Building Tomorrow's Leaders, One Esquire at a Time
On Sunday November 23, Alpha Esquires, alongside the Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., supported Lula Davis-Holmes, mayor of the City of Carson and duly initiated member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., during her 17th Annual Turkey Drive in the City of Carson. Esquires assisted in distributing out turkeys, boxed meals, and gift cards to families in Carson. It was a meaningful afternoon of service and fellowship.
This past weekend, Alpha Esquires hosted our Tied to Greatness Program, a professional development workshop focused on interview readiness and proper professional dress. Esquires participated in real-world mock interviews and learned how to properly tie a tie, gaining valuable skills to support their future success. The young men left the workshop more confident, prepared, and empowered to step into new opportunities.
Alpha Esquires recently attended the Annual Black College Summit, which featured 27 HBCUs- including 11 offering onsite admissions. Our young men had the opportunity to engage with campus representatives, explore academic programs, and learn about financial aid and scholarship opportunities. Esquires left the event inspired and empowered to take the next step in their educational journey.
Great night of college hoops! This past weekend, Alpha Esquires came together for an exciting evening of college basketball at the USC vs. LMU Men’s Game. With USC reigning victorious, it was an awesome opportunity for our young men to bond and experience the excitement of collegiate athletics.
Alpha Esquires recently hosted a Financial Literacy Workshop, where our young men learned about the fundamentals of credit, budgeting, and debt. The Esquires engaged in real-life scenarios and interactive discussions that made the topic both practical and relatable. It was an afternoon filled with learning and meaningful conversation. On August 9, Alpha Esquires joined The Black Surfers Collective for Pan African Beach Day, catching waves and learning the art of surfing. It was an unforgettable day of fun, skill-building, and community. We can’t wait for the next opportunity!
Alpha Esquires took on Malibu Creek State Park for an unforgettable camping and mountain biking adventure. From scenic trails and stunning views to a live amphibian show, the weekend was packed with discovery and fun. The Esquires returned home with new memories, fresh perspectives, and a deeper connection to nature and each other.
On Saturday, June 28, 2025, Alpha Esquires Los Angeles proudly celebrated the 10th anniversary of our annual Beautillion. The evening highlighted the excellence and growth of our young men, featuring a dynamic step performance by our Junior Esquires and a graceful waltz by our Senior Esquires and their dates. Dr. Donald Grant delivered a moving keynote address that left a lasting impact on all in attendance. We were honored to present scholarships to our four graduating Seniors as they prepare to begin their college journeys. Thank you to everyone who helped make this milestone event truly unforgettable.
